A Resolution

A Resolution

It’s a new year for a new perspective and I think that is what a lot of 2019 is going to look like. More than being goal oriented, we are going to be alert to our actions and aware of how we truly feel. Sometime emotions drive our decisions, we miscommunicate and we feel really frustrated with our limits but with insight we can become better people. At the beginning of the year, that is what a lot of people are looking to do, us included. We just want to be, do and grow into better humans.

Patience will bring context.

Kindness will bring understanding.

Love will bring selflessness.

Honesty will bring responsibility.

A big mind shift will be how we measure things. Numbers add up and don’t reflect our efforts and desires. Even time is in need of a shift, because there is never enough of it when we want it and sometimes we can’t just wait till it’s bedtime. Food will be measured by filled bellies, weight will be measured by power and strength & one on one time will be measured by finished crafts and broken block towers.

This year we will stop saying “one second” & “I feel bad”. I will tell you exactly why I can’t help at that moment and I will articulate exactly what bad means within the context of things.

We will fully commit and live authentically. That means more of Sage’s bizarre outfit choices and more pictures of our messy house. A whole lot more pictures of Kyle and I together (& myself with the kids), but still less pictures of Ian though, because he is still SO naked.

A hope for my family this year includes empathy, fulfilled relationships & satisfying work.

We just got to reflect on this past year and get psyched for the next 12 months. With a handful of truly exciting events coming up, we are going to find our wonder in the daily life. 2019 be good to us!
